From a Small Clinic to a World-Class Hospital
MediCare began in 1999 with a simple but powerful idea: that every person, regardless of background, deserves access to exceptional medical care. Dr. Eleanor Hayes founded our first clinic with 12 staff members and a 50-bed facility in the heart of the city.
Over the next decade, we grew steadily — driven not by profit, but by purpose. In 2008 we opened our first dedicated surgical wing. By 2012, we had earned our JCI accreditation. In 2018 we launched the region's first robotic surgery program, and today we stand as a 600-bed, fully-integrated hospital system with 3 campuses, 40+ departments, and 200+ specialists.
Through every phase of growth, our core belief has never changed: the patient always comes first.
